Nesta nova obra, Byrne aprofunda sua busca de uma vida inteira: a conex\u00e3o humana e o potencial de uni\u00e3o social em meio ao caos do mundo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Who Is The Sky?<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00e9 particularmente cinematogr\u00e1fico, bem-humorado e alegre \u2014 mas sempre com uma li\u00e7\u00e3o embutida: que o amor \u00e9 inexplic\u00e1vel, que a ilumina\u00e7\u00e3o tem significados muito distintos para cada pessoa e que sempre vale a pena hidratar a pele, mesmo que voc\u00ea n\u00e3o acorde no dia seguinte com um rosto de beb\u00ea. Acima de tudo, as can\u00e7\u00f5es revelam o dom de Byrne em caminhar na t\u00eanue linha entre o vanguardismo e o pop acess\u00edvel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Byrne se inspirou a convidar a Ghost Train Orchestra para colaborar no \u00e1lbum ap\u00f3s ouvir o tributo que o grupo lan\u00e7ou em 2023 ao compositor cego e poeta de rua nova-iorquino Moondog. Mais tarde naquele mesmo ano, ele subiu ao palco com a banda durante uma apresenta\u00e7\u00e3o no Brooklyn. Fascinado pela forma\u00e7\u00e3o instrumental diversa do grupo de 15 integrantes \u2014 que re\u00fane bateria, percuss\u00e3o, guitarra e baixo, al\u00e9m de cordas, sopros e metais \u2014 Byrne se perguntou: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201ce se minhas novas m\u00fasicas soassem assim?\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Ouvir ele cantando com a gente pela primeira vez nessa m\u00fasica foi simplesmente incr\u00edvel.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Por meio de uma apresenta\u00e7\u00e3o feita por um amigo em uma festa, Kid Harpoon entrou na hist\u00f3ria.<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u201c\u00c0s vezes as coisas realmente acontecem em festas,\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> observa Byrne. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cEu sabia que tudo isso poderia ficar complicado e tamb\u00e9m queria garantir que as grava\u00e7\u00f5es soassem da melhor forma poss\u00edvel. Ter um olhar externo pode ser muito \u00fatil. Alguns artistas que eu conhecia j\u00e1 haviam trabalhado com o Kid Harpoon, e achei que esses discos soavam muito bem.\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Byrne enviou algumas demos para Harpoon e, ap\u00f3s uma conversa no hotel de Byrne em Santa Monica, ele tamb\u00e9m entrou para o projeto.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Segundo Byrne, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Who Is The Sky? <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">traz <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cmais can\u00e7\u00f5es com hist\u00f3rias do que o habitual\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Essas \u201cmini-narrativas baseadas em experi\u00eancias pessoais\u201d incluem \u201cShe Explains Things to Me\u201d (trecho da letra: \u201ccomo \u00e9 que tudo \u00e9 t\u00e3o \u00f3bvio para ela?\u201d), \u201cA Door Called No\u201d (que magicamente se abre depois que Byrne recebe um beijo), \u201cMy Apartment Is My Friend\u201d (\u201cvoc\u00ea j\u00e1 me viu no meu pior \/ mas a gente sempre se d\u00e1 bem,\u201d ele canta) e \u201cI Met the Buddha at a Downtown Party\u201d (onde o antigo guru espiritual est\u00e1 mais interessado nas sobremesas nada saud\u00e1veis do que na pr\u00f3pria deifica\u00e7\u00e3o).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Marcada pela intera\u00e7\u00e3o vocal cativante entre Byrne e Williams, do Paramore, a animada \u201cWhat Is the Reason for It?\u201d busca definir o amor de uma forma que a l\u00f3gica raramente consegue (\u201cfaz algo \u00fatil? \/ ningu\u00e9m entende\u201d), enquanto \u201cThe Avant Garde\u201d debate os m\u00e9ritos da arte pela arte (\u201cest\u00e1 \u00e0 frente do seu tempo \/ \u00e9 enganadoramente pesada, profunda, absurda \/ \u00e9 o que quer que seja\u201d \u2014 uma meta observa\u00e7\u00e3o, se \u00e9 que j\u00e1 houve uma, vinda de um dos artistas mais iconoclastas a surgir do underground do rock nova-iorquino).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cEu suspeitava que arranjos orquestrais intimistas trariam \u00e0 tona a emo\u00e7\u00e3o que sinto presente nessas m\u00fasicas,\u201d <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">diz Byrne, que planeja fazer uma turn\u00ea de <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Who Is The Sky? <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ainda este ano. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c\u00c9 algo que as pessoas nem sempre percebem no meu trabalho, mas desta vez eu realmente achei que estava l\u00e1. Ao mesmo tempo, me vejo como algu\u00e9m que busca ser acess\u00edvel. Imaginei que Kid Harpoon ajudaria nesse aspecto, al\u00e9m de ser um par de ouvidos confi\u00e1veis, j\u00e1 que havia muita coisa acontecendo. As pessoas costumam pensar nos produtores apenas como respons\u00e1veis por fazer um disco soar bem, e Kid Harpoon fez isso, mas ele tamb\u00e9m estava atento \u00e0 import\u00e2ncia da narrativa.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Autodeclarado \u201cexigente quando se trata de grooves\u201d, Byrne recebeu com entusiasmo as contribui\u00e7\u00f5es de \u00faltima hora de Skinner e Refosco, com quem grava e faz turn\u00eas h\u00e1 mais de 30 anos. Mixado por Mark \u201cSpike\u201d Stent e masterizado por Emily Lazar, o produto final trata tanto de esconder quanto de revelar, ou, nas palavras de Byrne, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cuma chance de ser a criatura m\u00edtica que todos carregamos dentro de n\u00f3s. Uma chance de entrar em outra realidade. Uma chance de transcender e escapar da pris\u00e3o do nosso \u2018eu\u2019.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Esses conceitos est\u00e3o fortemente presentes na arte do \u00e1lbum, criado por Shira Inbar, que mostra Byrne quase oculto por padr\u00f5es coloridos e radiantes, al\u00e9m de roupas psicod\u00e9licas e pontiagudas desenhadas pelo artista belga Tom Van Der Borght.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cNa minha idade, pelo menos para mim, surge aquela atitude de \u2018n\u00e3o ligar para o que as pessoas pensam\u2019,\u201d diz Byrne. \u201cPosso sair da minha zona de conforto com a certeza de que, de certa forma, j\u00e1 sei quem sou e meio que sei o que estou fazendo. Dito isso, todo novo conjunto de m\u00fasicas, cada m\u00fasica, \u00e9 uma nova aventura. Sempre existe aquela d\u00favida de \u2018como vou trabalhar isso?\u2019 Descobri que nem toda colabora\u00e7\u00e3o funciona, mas muitas vezes, quando d\u00e1 certo, \u00e9 porque consigo comunicar claramente o que estou tentando fazer.
